Abstract

This study was conducted at Mindanao State University, Barangay Fatima General Santos City College of Agriculture with partially shaded area. The study was conducted to determine the survival rate of the cuttings and to determine the effects of yeast, vermitea, and ANAA on the growth of Tubli cuttings. A two-factorial experiment in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) arrangement was used in this study with two variables replicated five times. The two variables used were: Factor A - part of cutting (Tip, Middle, and Base); and Factor B -dipping treatment (water, yeast, vermitea, and ANAA). The results revealed that the effect of water, yeast, vermitea, and ANAA solutions did improve the growing ability of Tubli cuttings. Likewise, no significant effect of the variables tested on the growth of Tubli cuttings using different parts at the Tip, Middle, and Base, although the base part had shown relatively higher growth value than other parts of the cuttings. It is recommended to modify the treatments imposed such as concentrations and the media to be used that would be appropriate for Tubli cuttings. The natural habitat in the forest where Tubli is growing must be simulated in order to achieve better survival rate and growth of Tubli seedlings while being complemented by other treatments using yeast, vermitea and ANAA. Lower rates of treatment employed maybe explored
