Abstract

Composted animal manure is rich in nutrients such as carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. The compost has a neutral alkaline pH in the proper application. The manure compost has an optimum level of N, P, and K compared to synthetic fertilizer. Hence, this study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of composted chicken, goat, and cattle manure in response to the growth and yield of okra plant. This study used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) having four treatments with four replications. These were T1control (NoTreatment), T2- Composted chicken manure 5t/h,T3-composted goat manure 5t/h,and T4 composted cattle manure. The study revealed that there were significant differences in flowering period, plant height, number of marketable fruits, number of non-marketable fruits, podslength, and pod yield. Based on observations and findings, those okra that have been treated with composted chicken, goat, and cattle manure was found out to be synchronized in growth and have increased production compared to the control without application. Thus, it is recommended that similar study must apply the composted animal manure in the soil five to seven days before sowing the seed usually in annual crops.
