Abstract

The study was conducted at the expiremental area of the College of Agriculture at the Mindanao State University, Fatima Campus, General Santos City to evaluate the effect of malunggay (Moringa oleifera L.) leaf extract as foliar fertilizer on peanut (Arachis hypogea l). Each plot has a dimension of 2x3 m with a plot alley of 50m. The study used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 5 treatments replicated 3 times. The expiremental treatments were the following: Control - 30-40-40 kg NPK/ha (T1) 7% MLE(T2), (T3), 15% MLE(T4), Vermicast (T5). The study revealed that the application of different levels of malunggat leaf extract had significant influenced on the number of pods per plant and the bean yield but not in plant height, days to flowering, weight of 100 seeds, nodule count, and the shelliing recovery. Moreover, the used of malunggay leaf extract as foliar fertilizer in this study was comparatively similar in promoting growth and yield characters of peanut to that of inorgani fertilizer.
