The field study was conducted at Mindanao State University, General Santos City, College of Agriculture experimental area, from February 2018 to March 2018. This study used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with five (5) treatments and replicated three (3) times. The treatments were as follows: T1-control (120-60-60 kg NPK/ha); T2 -10% fermented bamboo shoots; T3 -15% fermented bamboo shoots; T4 - 20% fermented bamboo shoots; T5 - Vermicast (10t/ha). The results included that plant height, number of leaves, length of petioles and plant yields of pechay showed no significant effect when applied with different levels of fermented bamboo shoots as foliar fertilizer. However, T2 (10% Fermented Bamboo Shoots) showed potential effects comparable with T1 (Control 120-60-60 Kg NPK/ha) as to the different parameters tested in this particular study. Based on the foregoing, fermented bamboo shoots can be a good subsitute for inorganic fertilizer to sustain crop productivity and environmental protection.
