Abstract

A study to evaluate the performance of Pioneer 3774YR hybrid corn variety as affected by different population densities was conducted at expiremental field of the College Of Agriculture, Mindanao State University, General Santos City from September 2017 to January 2018. The study used Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) having four treaments with four replications. The treatments were as follows: T1-59,300 plants/ha. (control), T2-64,200 plants/ha, T3 -69,300 plants/ha and T4-75,100 plants/ha. The data gathered were as follows: Days to 50% silking; plant height; ear diameter; ear length; Percent shelling recovery and grain yield. The results showed that the performance of Pioneer 3774YR hybrid corn variety as affected by different population densities had no significant difference among treatment means: days to 50% silking, plant height, ear diameter, ear length, percent shelling recovery and grain yield.
