A survey was conducted to determine and gather information on the status of native chicken industry in Barangay Sapu Padidu, Malapatan, Sarangani Province from June to July 2018. Five were randomly selected in each of the twelve puroks with a total of 60 respondents who were interviewed using a close-ended type questionnaire. Native chicken were mainly raised for home consumption (58%). Purchasing of native chicken was 26% and the native chicken inherited was 22% as a source of stock. The highest percentage type of feed that the raisers usually fed to their chickens is commercial feed (53%). The main breeding system that the raisers used was outbreeding (82%). Close confinement of raising native chicken comprised 45% of the respondents. Robbery was the main problem encountered by the native chicken raisers of Sapu Padidu, Malapatan. The the common disease encountered by the raisers was the new castle disease (NCD). In preventing and controlling disease encountered, raisers practiced combination of vaccination and sanitation (20%). The common breeds raised by the owners were Bolinao (5%), Bisaya (35%), Joloanon (16%) and some raised unknown breed or strain (44%).
