Abstract

The study was conducted at the experimental area of the College of Agriculture at the Mindanao State University, Fatima Campus, General Santos City to evaluate the response of peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) to the application of different levels of carbonized rice hulls with yeast and molasses as fertilizer. Each plot has a dimension of 2x3 m. The study used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 4 treatments replicated 3 times. The experimental treatments were the following: (T1) Control-3030-30kg NPK/ha, (T2), 3T/HA Carbonized RH+1% Yeast+10% Molasses (T3), 5T/HA Carbonized RH+1% Yeast+10% Molasses (TA), 7T/HA Carbonized RH+1% Yeast +10% Molasses. The study revealed that the application of different levels of carbonized rice hull with yeast and molasses as fertilizer had significant influence on the plant height, number of developed pods per plant, weight of 100 seeds and bean yield. The use of carbonized rice hull with yeast and molasses as fertilizer in this study was effective in promoting growth and yield characteristics of peanut to that of inorganic fertilizer.
