GROWTH AND YIELD PERFORMANCE OF PECHAY (Brassica rapa L.) AS INFLUENCE BY FOLIAR APPLICATION OF ALOE VERA EXTRACT

This experiment was conducted to evaluate the growth and yield performance of Pechay (Brassica rapa L.) as affected by foliar application of aloe vera extract solution for other nutrients from November 2016 to February 2017. The experiment was carried out using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with five treatments and three replications. The treatments were as follows: T1- Control (60-30-30kg NPK/ha); T2- 5% Aloe Vera Extract plus 30-30-30 kg NPK/ha; T3 -10% Aloe Vera Extract plus 30-30-30 kg NPK/ha; T4 - 15% Aloe Vera Extract plus 30-30-30 kg NPK/ha; and T520% Aloe Vera Extract plus 30-30-30 kg NPK/ha. The results of the study revealed significant effects of foliar application of aloe vera on plant height, and plant yield of pechay. The application of 5% aloe vera extract was found to be the optimum level for pechay in this study. It is recommended to conduct similar studies on other crops.
