Abstract

A multi-controlled lawnmower robot was developed by the researchers. The lawnmower was controlled through motor drivers provided for three DC motors. The machine was able to move forward, reverse, turn left, and turn left and cut grass. The system is divided into threee main units: the motor drives, the DC motors, and the chasis. The motor driver units comprise a supply (24V DC) and the motor drivers. The motor units consisted of the three DC motors. Two of which are high torque DC motors which was used in propelling the motor back and forth, as well as turning it left and right. Another is a high speed motor which was used to cut grass. The chassis of the lawnmower unit comprises the frame, the drive chain and drive wheel assemblies.
