Abstract
This study was conducted at Mindanao State University-General Santos City. The main objective of this study is to determine the effect of different peduncle length on the quality of ripe Solo papaya fruits. A Complete Randomized Design (CRD) was used in this experiment with three treatments replicated three times. The treatment lengths were as follows: T1-0.5 cm, T2-1.0 cm and T3-2.0 cm. There was no significant difference on the result for Days to fruit ripening, Total soluble solids, pH and taste. However, the result revealed that there was a significant difference among peduncle length from the data gathered for shelf-life. It was observed that treatment 3(2.0 cm peduncle length) has longer shelf-life than the other treatments.
