Preliminary dendrological assessment of remnant lowland forests of Sitio Liclicon, Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat was carried out using Point-Center Quarter Method on November 28-30, 2009, involving three transects ranging from 0.5 -1.2 Km. A total of 289 individuals were recorded, resolved into 52 species and 25 families, dominated by Lithocarpus llanosii with a total number of 50 individuals. Other abundant species were Piper cetidiforme, Antidesma pentandrum, Castanopsis sp., Pouteria macranthum, and Homolanthus populneus with 28, 11, 10, 8 and 5 individuals, respectively. Majority of the species were represented only by one individual in each transect. Economically important hardwood species documented in the study sites were Shorea guiso, Hopea acuminata, Dacrycarpus imbricatus, Shorea polysperma, Hopea philippinensis, Myristica philippinensis, Shorea contorta, Dracontomelon dao and the broad- leaved apitong, Dipterocarpus grandiflorus. Results further indicate that there were 7 critically endangered, 1 endangered, 9 vulnerable, 1 threatened and 1 rare species documented in all of the study areas.
