Abstract

This study aimed to determine the rate of maturity of composting of corn cobs using Poultry manure, Cattle manure and Trichoderma as activators. It was conducted at the Botanical Garden of Mindanao State University, Tam- bler, General Santos City from December 15, 1994 to Jan. 15, 1995.

A Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments in 3 replications was used in the study. The treatments are as follows: \mathbb{T}_{7} was the control which is composed of purely corn cobs, T, Corn cobs with poultry manure, T Corn cobs with cattle manure and To Corn cobs with Trichoderma. Results show that the different activators hastened the rate of composting as indicated by the temperature, pH level, color and texture. Poultry manure was found to be the most effective followed by trichoderma then cattle manure in the decomposition of corn cobs.
