Survey of Medicinal Plants Used by B'laans at Ulo Landan, Polomolok, South Cotabato

Abstract

The survey of medicinal plants was conducted Landan, Polomolok, South Cotabato last December 26-30, 1974. There were thirty (30) medicinal plants in the area pelanging to twenty (20) different families namely: Amaranthecess, Asterceae, Crassulaceae. Boraginaceae, Compositae, Cucurbitaceae, Cyperaceae, Convulvula Euphorbiacess, Labistae, Leguminoceae, Liliceae, Meliceae, Moringaceae. Oxalidaceae. Piperaceae, Verbenaceae and Zingerberaceae. Simurabaceae, Solanacea

The most frequently used plants by the B’laans belong to family Euphorbiaceae, Leguminoceae, Oxalidaceae, Liliceae and simurabaceae. Piperaceae, Solanaceae, Amarantheca Crassul

As a result of the interview, all of the plants parts were used such as roots, sten, leaves, flower, berk, fruits and seeds. There were twenty-six (26) plants in which leaves are used, thirteen (13) using flower, twelve (12) for step. fourteen (14) for roots, three (3) for seeds, two (2) for rhizomes and only one (1) plants using the fruits through the process of infusion, poultice, juices and decoction.
