This is a survey study on the impact of Fundamentals of Peace Education among students in Mindanao State University- General Santos City. A non-probability procedure particularly purposive using proportionate sampling technique was used to determine the respondents and the needed data were gathered through the use of questionnaire. . It employed a descriptive survey method. The statistical tools used in analysing the data are frequency, mean and grand mean.
This study reveals that students are able to understand the general objectives of the FPE101 subject because they are very highly knowledgeable with a grand mean 4.46 that the subject aims to solve conflicts without violence.
The cognitive impact to the students on Peace Concepts in Islam, Other Faiths and Spiritual Traditions are highly knowledgeable with a grand mean 4.03 because they can identify points of similarities in the concepts of peace between other beliefs. In addition, students understanding in Conflict and Violence are highly knowledgeable because they are able to understand the importance of analyzing the cause of conflict. Moreover, the students cognitive understanding on resolving conflicts are Very highly knowledgeable with a grand mean 4.03 because they develop their active listening skills. However, the students behavioral aspects after taking the FPE101 subject is they always promote universal values that is relevant to them.
The students' recommendation on improving the FPE101 subject is to Provide more reading materials related to peace education and must provide opportunities for intercultural encounters between members of IP's, Muslims and Lumads in the university.
