Abstract

This is a descriptive study on Ilonggo adolescents perception towards their T'Boli peers, considering the dialect spoken and beliefs and practices of the T'Boli peers. This is a quantitative paper using non-probability sampling procedure specifically purposive sampling technique to identify the fifty (50) respondents. The data was gathered with the use of online questionnaire through google forms. The 5 point Likert Scale was used to measure the Ilonggo adolescents perception towards their T'Boli peers, ways it affects their perceptions and the factors that affects their perception.

Findings revealed that their perceptions were influenced by their family, peers and social media, in terms of T'Boli's dialect spoken and their beliefs and practices. Based on the gathered data, the Ilonggo adolescent respondents perceived positive perceptions towards their T'boli peers and social media influences them more than their family and peers do when it comes to the factors that affects their perception towards their T'boli peers.

The Ilonggo adolescents were living with the T'Boli's now and they co- exist with them. This means that they have been exposed to their T'Boli peers and they have a positive view about them. The researcher would like to concludes that the Ilonggo adolescents are still on the process of accepting the dialect spoken, beliefs and practices of the T'Boli's. Although social media influence them, it is an opportunity for them to undo those prejudices that the social media hold towards the T'Boli's.
